Apart from apprenticeships, Bauer Academy offers a range of fantastic development opportunities for those wishing to step into a career in creative industries and media, or to gain new skills. Launched in 2014, Finding Talent was set up to revolutionise the way that Bauer Media finds and develops talent.
Our programmes are aligned to business needs, helping to create pathways to real job opportunities for our students. We bring together business, media and education to recruit and train the next wave of talent for world-class, multi-platform media and entertainment brands including heat, KISS, Magic and Absolute Radio, as well as print titles such as Grazia and Empire.
There is no entry requirement, which means we can search for talent outside of traditional groups, helping to support and promote diversity across creative industries.
Women in Programming is an exciting programme aiming to upskill diverse female freelancers who want to access work at Bauer Media. Through a series of evening classes, individuals will receive training in areas such as scheduling, editorial decision making, social media and branding; to ensure that they have the required skills for permanent roles that become available within Bauer. This course is completely free and will begin in June and run until July 2021, with four evening classes per month.
During these evening classes you’ll learn about the systems Bauer use, how the different brands work and how to gain freelance and full time work within Bauer Radio.
Applications for the evening classes have now closed.
KISS Summer School starts in July 2021 and will provide two weeks of intensive training and activities for up to 20 young women who want to get into the industry. Throughout the fortnight, the 16-24-year-olds will have access to a group of industry mentors to guide them on what it is like working in the industry and will be tasked with a brief to generate ideas for KISS Radio. By learning how to respond to a brief and exploring the creative processes which turn ideas into reality, the new entrants will get first-hand experience in working in radio and open themselves up to future entry-level opportunities at Bauer.
The Kiss Summer School will run online from the 19th – 30th July and is completely free to attend.
Expressions of interest for the Kiss Summer School have now closed we will be in touch with everyone who emailed shortly.
