The new hub will put Bauer Academy at the heart of a city-wide effort to strengthen London’s creative workforce – connecting employers, educators, freelancers and learners to tackle skills gaps, open up career pathways and help more people build successful futures in the creative industries.
The Creative Industries Sector Hub will be led by Bauer Academy, working in partnership with the National Theatre, UKFT and CineCertified. It will act as a central resource for London’s creative sector, bringing together employers, education providers and industry organisations to help address skills shortages, support career progression and create clearer routes into creative careers.
For more than a decade, Bauer Academy has worked with employers and learners to develop skills,
open up career pathways and support talent across the creative industries.
This new role builds on that experience at a city-wide level, positioning Bauer Academy as a key connector between businesses, education providers and people looking to build careers in the creative sector.
The hub will initially focus on developing pilot programmes in collaboration with the GLA and industry partners. Over time, its work will expand to include:
A dedicated team has been recruited within Bauer Academy to deliver the programme and work closely with employers and stakeholders across London’s creative economy.
Simon Myciunka, President Audio & CEO, Bauer Media Audio UK, said:
“For more than a decade, Bauer Academy has worked alongside employers to develop the skills, talent and career pathways that the creative industries need. Leading the Creative Industries Sector Hub allows us to build on that experience at a city-wide level, bringing together employers, educators and industry bodies to strengthen collaboration, create clearer pathways into creative careers and help businesses access the talent they need. Our ambition is for the hub to become London’s trusted centre for creative skills, helping build a stronger, more resilient workforce for the future.”
Industry collaboration will be central to the hub’s work. By working directly with employers and freelancers, the team will help identify the skills the sector needs now — and the skills it will need in the future.
The ambition is for the hub to become a trusted centre for creative skills in London, helping businesses access the talent they need while giving learners and career-changers clearer pathways into the industry.
The Creative Industries Sector Hub is expected to be in operation later this year and is one of three new sector hubs being established across London to support priority industries.
