Katy is an award-winning content producer with 13 years’ media experience managing high profile websites, CRM & digital marketing content within the Radio, Games (SEGA) & Publishing industries. Before joining The Bauer Academy as Lead Tutor for the Brilliant Storytelling content production course, Katy was Production Manager for Bauer’s creative advertising team, responsible for multi-platform commercial partnership campaigns across digital, print, radio and social with Bauer portfolio brands. Katy also comes from an academic background with a Media Production Degree in TV, Film, Scriptwriting & Research and Masters in Radio News Journalism & Audio Feature production.
Katy is a multimedia storytelling expert, with over 15 years’ experience creating content for leading brands. She specialises in mobile, audio and video production and has worked for a number of international brands including Bauer Media, ASOS, Vivienne Westwood and London Fashion Week. She has her own blog and is passionate about creative writing. In the Bauer Academy, Katy delivers training across a range of programmes and projects, including employability programmes for young people.
Kieren is an award-winning, highly successful digital journalist, manager and communication specialist, including 11 years as editor of Parkers, a Bauer digital brand dedicated to helping car buyers. He has also worked with a range of blue chip companies including Honda, the BMW Group, the AA, AutoTrader and National Geographic UK creating and delivering their content, communication and social media strategies across multi-media platforms. Kieren is also holds a Google Digital Marketing Leadership qualification.
As Head of Creative Education, Michelle is responsible for the quality and innovation of Bauer Academy training and ensuring all programmes are aligned to changing industry needs. Michelle works closely with Academy tutors to design and develop creative, impactful training programmes across our portfolio which include leadership & management, digital marketing, content creation, journalism and sales.
Michelle teaches innovation strategy, creativity, developing creative cultures and education & training. Prior to joining the Academy, she was a radio producer and worked on some of the UK’s biggest commercial radio networked shows. She also worked in the independent production sector on chart topping podcasts for The Guardian and Amnesty International. She is a Level 7 qualified coach and has previous teaching experience at colleges and universities in Scotland.
Rachel Gillett has extensive experience leading Advertising strategies for market-leading Media Owners. Specialising in the complexities of Branded Content, she has worked on a wide portfolio of multi-platform campaigns for the UK’s top media agencies and brands. Her ability to streamline creative team processes is combined with her passion for developing individuals as a manager, accredited Performance Coach and initiator of Personal Development programmes. Rachel has also completed programmes in Behavioural Economics and the Psychology of Personal Growth.
Rajni had worked in sales for 22 years before embarking as a senior tutor with Bauer Academy. She started her career with Northcliffe newspapers, followed by a role as Account Manager at Yell. Rajni then progressed into the world of radio where the creative led sell was the focus and she remained at GEM, an East Midlands regional radio station for 6 years. Rajni is able to offer expertise on many platforms within a sales environment.
With 20+ years’ experience, Krystle has a vast knowledge of the radio industry and storytelling from previous roles including Sponsorship & Promotions Executive, Production Hub Producer and over 10 years’ of On-Air experience as a networked presenter and producer. Broadcasting across Scotland on 8 stations, including Forth 1 and Clyde 1, Krystle won Best Regular Music Programme at the European Radio Awards, and after being the only commercial nominee, she shook off 4 BBC nominees, including Radio 2’s Charles Hazelwood and Radio 1’s Zane Lowe to take home a Gold Sony Radio Award for the Best Specialist Music Programme.
Naomi started her career by studying psychology at degree level with a view to working with and helping people. Naomi worked at John Lewis for 10 years as a line manager and in HR, focusing on development. Realising her real passion for learning and development Naomi embarked on a new chapter of her career at Bauer Media as a HR assistant where she studied for her CIPD qualification. An amazing opportunity presented itself at The Bauer Academy to work closely with learners and to support them through their learning journey. Naomi has worked for the Academy for two years specialising in Digital Marketing and Journalism.
